Sonata Hiring For Senior Software Engineer III – EDS

We’re seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Software Engineer III to join our Enterprise Digital Solutions (EDS) team. In this high-impact role, you’ll be instrumental in designing and developing Sonata’s Core 2U Platform, leveraging a modern tech stack that includes Python, Node.js, React, AWS, and Kubernetes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Backend & API Development:
  • Design and build scalable backend services using Python and Node.js.
  • Architect event-driven and serverless applications with AWS Lambda, Step Functions, SNS, and SQS.
  • Develop secure APIs and integrate third-party systems like Salesforce, OpenAI, and PagerDuty.
  • Optimize DynamoDB and AWS data storage for scalability and cost efficiency.
• Frontend & UI Development:
  • Build user-centric, scalable front-end apps using React and Retool.
  • Ensure responsive design and intuitive UX across internal tools and dashboards.
  • Guide front-end optimization for speed and performance.
• Cloud Infrastructure & DevOps:
  • Manage and deploy services using Kubernetes, including Kube Cron Jobs.
  • Create CI/CD pipelines using Buildkite, Jenkins, and CircleCI.
  • Monitor platform performance with tools like Datadog and integrate with PagerDuty.
  • Drive AWS cost optimization and infrastructure security.
• Leadership & Collaboration:
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers across squads.
  • Lead code reviews, architecture planning, and platform roadmap discussions.
  • Promote engineering best practices and cross-team collaboration.

Required Skills:

• 10+ years in full-stack software engineering
• Proficient in Python, Node.js, React
• Strong experience with AWS Cloud Services: Lambda, Step Functions, DynamoDB, SNS, SQS, CloudFront
• Solid understanding of Kubernetes and container orchestration
• Expertise with CI/CD: Buildkite, Jenkins, CircleCI
• Proficient with monitoring and alerting tools: Datadog, PagerDuty
• Experience with API integrations (Salesforce, OpenAI, etc.)
• Deep understanding of cloud security, event-driven systems, and scalable architecture
• Experience with Retool for building internal tool
• Familiarity with Tableau for data visualization
• Exposure to GraphQL and API Gateway
• Knowledge of serverless frameworks like AWS SAM, Serverless Framework
